Mecha Art

Mecha art presents a unique challenge I really enjoy. Whether I am working on the ‘practical industrial’ designs of Battletech, the smoother ‘Fantasy-lite’ panels of Gundam or my own ‘bio-technica’ for ‘Shoal’, mechs are always a fun commitment.
Mecha require a unique grasp of posture, articulation and perspective that make them some of the longest projects I work on, but also the most rewarding.

Operation Bug Hunt: This was made to promote the upcoming video about The Hunchback, by the wonderful Tex of the Black Pants Legion. Being asked to produce the art for this little project launched me into mech art and I haven’t looked back!

BPL AUX Work

The Auxilliary of the BPL kindly let me work on some Discord branding in the form of an icon and banner. As ever, its a pleasure working with this community and the below is the work produced as part of the project!

The best part of the project, in my opinion, was working on the moving icon. This was the first time I ever animated anything, and the concept was very fun. Can you understand the flashing? It’s morse code! Each bar flashes a letter – BPL/AUX.
